Vita
I am a psychologist and Professor for Human-Computer Interaction and Media Theory at the Hochschule Bremen, University of Applied Sciences, Department of Electrical Engineering and Informatics. I am further an Associated Professor at the Graduate School Advances in Digital Media at the University Bremen.
Core issues of my research revolve around the emergence of novel possibilities of thinking and acting during and within the use of digital media. Together with my research group Gangs of Bremen I aim to understand mobile gaming experiences and their conceptual, aesthetical and technological foundations by means of exploring, developing and play testing mobile games.
I hold a Diplom in Psychology and a PhD in Developmental Psychology from Freie Universität Berlin. I worked as a research associate and as an assistant professor at the Freie Universität Berlin until 2000. During my time there I have been a visiting scholar at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, NC, USA from August 1996 to June 1997.
