About

Dr. Thomas Rist is a professor of computer science at the University of Applied Sciences Augsburg. His current working areas include HCI, AI, and multimedia-computing. His interest in conversational characters arose in the early 1990's when he got involved in research projects on AI-based information systems with animated characters. Since then, he continued research on the topic in various research projects funded by the EU or by industrial partners.
