xioSCREEN

xioSCREEN is an ongoing research project of Prof. KP Ludwig John and Prof. Dr. Thomas Rist at the university of applied sciences Augsburg.

The goal of the project is to establish a system of distributed public screens, which offer location and context specific information and allow the users to interact to the screen via their personal mobile device.

A first prototype was introduced in May 2008 at the Mensa of the university. Further screens will be added to the system at different locations of the campus throughout this year.

The presentation will report first user experiences with the prototype installation and will provide perspectives for further developments.
